Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She graduated with a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an actress in theater and film, and she is also an actor and producer. She began her career acting in the theatre but then proceeded to appear in many television series, including mainstream and independent films. Her biggest success came as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she won critical acclaim as well as various nominations and accolades, among them her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. Her first professional performance was in the role of Ariel in The Tempest. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway production of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Film-wise her most well-known roles are the roles she played in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. Also, she is well-known for her role on ABC's crime-drama High Incident.
